Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Philosophy and Religious Studies, beginning August 2027. You will teach undergraduate Philosophy courses, including the capstone World of Ideas, participate in Liberal Studies, advise students, and pursue an active scholarly agenda.

The teaching load is 4/4 (24 credits annually); ABD candidates may apply but must complete their degree by August 2027. UW System benefits apply.

Qualifications

• PhD in Philosophy by the time of appointment; AOS: Social and Political Philosophy.
• ABD candidates may apply but must have degree completed by the contract start date in August 2027.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Philosophy, including the capstone course World of Ideas.
• Provide advising and mentoring for Liberal Studies majors.
• Contribute to curriculum development and serve the university and community.
