Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Technical Writer to create, edit, and maintain clear, user-focused documentation for mission systems, applications, and processes.

This role translates complex scientific and engineering concepts into concise technical documentation for technical and non-technical audiences, collaborating with customers, engineers, and program staff to convert requirements into detailed specifications that support system development and end-user adoption.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required or eligible
• 5+ years in DoD/IC technical documentation
• Ability to distill complex technical information into clear docs
• Experience creating developer-oriented system documentation
• Knowledge of SDLC, RMF, and IC IT terminology

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical documentation (how-to guides, user manuals, reference docs, SOPs)
• Translate complex concepts into clear, plain-language documentation
• Collaborate with customers, engineers, and program staff to convert requirements into specifications
• Document system functionality and workflows with developers and system admins
• Produce developer-oriented documentation for design, development, and maintenance
• Apply templates, formatting standards, and output styles
• Ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards
• Manage multiple documents and version control
• Review content for grammar and technical accuracy
• Support RMF/IC IT environment documentation
