Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to plan, design, integrate, test, and sustain secure, resilient communications and information systems for defense environments. You will conduct trade studies, perform technical analyses across cost, schedule, performance and security, and develop MBSE artifacts and executive briefs.

The role requires handling complex engineering problems, producing rigorous documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure end-to-end system

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of systems engineering experience supporting communications or IT systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or additional relevant experience in place of a degree.
• Experience supporting the full system lifecycle (requirements, design, integration, testing).
• Experience solving complex or non-standard engineering problems.
• Experience incorporating security and resiliency into system designs.
• Experience performing trade studies and technical analysis across cost, schedule, performance, and security.
• Experience writing technical documentation such as requirements, specifications, and reports.
• Experience briefing technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience integrating systems and managing external interfaces.
• Experience planning, executing, and analyzing system-level tests.
• Ability to perform duties aligned with DoDI 8140 (631/632) roles.
• Active Top Secret clearance. Experience supporting MBSE/digital engineering.
• Experience with modular or open systems architectures.
• Experience supporting NC3 mission systems or modernization programs.
• Experience performing SWAP-C analysis.
• Experience supporting Air Force program risk management activities.
• Experience developing cost estimates for systems or upgrades.
• Experience training or mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, integrate, test, and sustain secure, resilient communications and information systems.
• Conduct trade studies and cost/schedule/performance/security analyses.
• Support digital engineering and MBSE efforts; produce technical documentation and executive briefings.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and architectures to support modernization efforts.
• Ensure end-to-end system integration and manage technical baselines; provide risk management inputs aligned with Air Force processes.
