Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an Installation Technician to support CIS in onsite roles across CONUS/OCONUS. You will install, configure, relocate, and decommission IT equipment while ensuring accuracy and minimal disruption to mission users.

The role emphasizes readiness, documentation, and adherence to security standards, with travel to multiple sites and a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance as prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or 8+ years of relevant IT experience (IV).
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or 8–14+ years of relevant IT experience (V).
• DoD 8140 Information Assurance Workforce certification requirements (e.g., Security+)
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph
• Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting IT hardware in enterprise or multisite environments

Responsibilities

• Install, replace, relocate, and configure IT hardware across enterprise sites.
• Conduct site assessments, surveys, and equipment readiness checks; maintain installation schedules and docs
• Develop installation artifacts like issue logs, action reports, inventories, and site readiness forms
• Perform troubleshooting and basic break/fix for installed hardware; escalate complex issues
• Support asset lifecycle activities including tracking, replacement, declassification, and disposal compliance
• Coordinate with site leads, PMs, and technical teams to resolve installation issues
• Ensure adherence to installation procedures, security requirements, labeling standards, and hardware configurations
