Job summary

Millennial Software Solutions Inc. seeks a seasoned Database Engineer to design, implement, and optimize database infrastructures supporting OBI mission requirements, ontologies, and knowledge graphs.

You will work with ontology engineers, software developers, data architects, analysts, and Government stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions. The role emphasizes Semantic Web technologies, RDF stores, SPARQL endpoints, ETL/ELT pipelines, and high availability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience with an advanced degree or 17+ years with a Bachelor's.
• Experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise database solutions for mission-critical apps.
• Experience with relational and graph databases, Semantic Web technologies, RDF stores, and knowledge graphs.
• Experience developing ETL/ELT processes across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Knowledge of performance tuning, backup/recovery, replication, security, and high-availability.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and optimize relational, graph, and semantic DB environments.
• Develop data models supporting ontologies, taxonomies, and knowledge graphs.
• Design scalable DB architectures using RDF stores, graph DBs, and SPARQL endpoints.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from diverse sources.
• Collaborate with Government stakeholders to translate requirements into DB designs.
• Optimize DB performance through indexing, partitioning, and capacity planning.
• Implement security, encryption, access controls, backups, and auditing.
• Develop automation, monitoring, and maintenance for high availability.
• Support AI/ML initiatives with scalable data access and infrastructure.
• Maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Provide technical leadership and knowledge transfer to government/multidisciplinary teams.
