Job summary

Leidos is seeking a TS/SCI-cleared Platform Operations Engineer to support a large, containerized microservices platform in Bethesda, MD, with emphasis on reliability, monitoring, and incident response.

You will work with a cross-functional team including systems engineers and developers to ensure uptime and performance, leveraging Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and cloud services. Some tasks may be done remotely, while most work is on-site at the customer location.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (8+ years; 6+ years with Master’s)
• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain polygraph
• One DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II+ certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, SSCP, CISSP)
• Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification
• Experience with Kubernetes, GitLab pipelines, Linux, and containerized environments
• Experience supporting enterprise scale production systems
• Experience with cloud services (preferably AWS)
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Logstash, Kibana, and Keycloak
• Cross functional coordination and execution
• Strong communication under pressure during incidents

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability, reliability, and performance of a containerized microservices platform
• Collaborate with systems engineers, developers, integrators, and system administrators
• Lead incident triage, troubleshooting, and post-incident reviews
• Define and track SLIs and SLOs for reliability
• Participate in SAFe Agile release planning and cross-team coordination
