Job summary

ABSC is seeking a mission-driven Platform Operations Engineer to join a high-impact team designing, developing, and deploying a modern technology stack supporting the DOMEX Technology Platform for OSINT across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise. On-site in Bethesda, MD with a flexible schedule and some remote work.

You will ensure uptime, performance, and capacity for a large-scale microservices platform on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and Kafka, while partnering with cross-functional

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, CS, or related field; 8+ years of relevant experience (6+ with a Master’s).
• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II+ certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, SSCP, CISSP).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Linux, and containerized environments.
• Experience with cloud services (preferably AWS) and enterprise-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability, reliability, and performance of a full-stack, containerized microservices platform.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, developers, integrators, and admins across disciplines.
• Drive system reliability, capacity planning, and incident response with root-cause analysis.
• Define and track SLIs/SLOs; participate in SAFe release planning and cross-team coordination.
• Support SAFe Agile practices, including release planning and design sessions.
