Job summary

The Building People seeks an experienced Electrician to support a secure federal O&M program in Northern Virginia. The role covers preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, installation, and service-call responses across electrical distribution and building infrastructure.

You will operate within a TS/SCI environment alongside site leadership, subcontractors, and government representatives. The ideal candidate has federal facilities experience, relevant licenses, and fluency in English,

Qualifications

• Experience supporting commercial, industrial, institutional, or federal electrical maintenance operations.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of electrical systems and components.
• Experience supporting electrical distribution systems, lighting, panels, branch circuits, transformers, switches, receptacles, and related infrastructure.
• Experience responding to service calls and supporting emergency maintenance activities.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and specifications.
• Ability to use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to maintain maintenance records and service call documentation.
• Ability to work safely in accordance with electrical safety standards and operational procedures.
• Ability to work in a secure federal facilities environment and support emergency response activities as required.
• Fully conversant in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Required Certifications
• Valid Driver's License.
• Valid Virginia Master Electrician License or Journeyman Electrician License.

Responsibilities

• perform electrical preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and service call response activities.
• support daily operations involving electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, emergency power systems, generators, UPS systems, panels, branch circuits, transformers, switches, receptacles, and associated building electrical infrastructure.
• work closely with site leadership, maintenance personnel, subcontractors, and Government representatives to support daily operations in a secure TS/SCI environment.
