Job summary

The Building People is looking for an experienced HVAC Technician to support operations at federal facilities in Alexandria, Virginia. This role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with government standards.

Qualifications

• Experience responding to service calls and supporting emergency maintenance activities.
• Ability to maintain maintenance records and service call documentation.
• Ability to work in a secure federal facilities environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for federal facilities.
• Respond to service calls and emergency maintenance activities.
• Work closely with site leadership and maintenance personnel.

Skills

Experience supporting commercial, industrial, institutional, or federal HVAC maintenance operations.

Experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.

Ability to use HVAC testing equipment and tools safely.

Fully conversant in English (speaking, reading, and writing).

Education

Valid Virginia HVAC License or Journeyman License.

EPA Section 608 Certification / Universal CFC Certification.
