Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical program.
• Licensed as a physician in the State of Maryland with current CME credits being maintained.
• Board Certified by the appropriate board for the specialty.
• CPR certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for the initial evaluation and treatment of patients in assigned areas.
• Performs initial history and physical and documents in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Writes standard orders in accordance with hospital policy.
• Evaluates medical, social and educational needs of patients.
• Initiates referral to ancillary departments and community resources.
• Writes progress notes and treatment plans for each visit.
• Makes immediate referral of acute or life‑threatening conditions to the ED or a specialist as needed.
• Educates patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.
