Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Software Engineer for our Trust & Safety team to build and operate systems that protect millions of developers from abuse at internet scale. You will analyze threat actor behavior, develop LLM-driven detection, and design scalable mitigations with product, infrastructure, and security teams.

Based remotely with optional in-office days for SF/NY/London/Berlin, you will own research through production deployment, iterate on defenses, and ship reliable tooling and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in abuse prevention, trust & safety, or security engineering.
• Strong JS/TS and Python programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering.
• Experience owning systems end-to-end from research to production deployment.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Analyze threat actor behavior and abuse patterns to inform detection logic and scalable mitigations.
• Research, prototype, and implement state-of-the-art LLM-driven abuse detection techniques.
• Design and develop production-ready systems that detect and disrupt abusive behavior.
• Build, maintain, and fine-tune internal tools and evaluation pipelines for trust & safety workflows.
• Collaborate with security, product, and infrastructure teams to deploy research into production.
