Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Software Engineer for Trust & Safety to build and operate systems that protect millions of developers and projects from abuse at internet scale. You will analyze threat actor behavior, develop LLM-based detection, and work with product, infrastructure, and security teams to create scalable defenses.

You will collaborate across teams, iterate from research to production, and contribute to an evolving safety platform with a focus on speed, security, and developer experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in abuse prevention, trust & safety, or security engineering.
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, including prompt engineering and fine-tuning.
• Experience owning systems end-to-end from research to production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze threat actor behavior and evolving abuse patterns to inform detection logic and mitigations.
• Research and prototype LLM-driven techniques for abuse detection and prevention.
• Design and develop production-ready systems that detect and disrupt abuse on the platform.
• Build and maintain internal tools and evaluation pipelines for trust and safety workflows.
• Collaborate with security, product, and infrastructure teams to ship scalable defenses.
