Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Reports & Insights Technical Analyst to join the Trust and Safety team in San Jose. You will enable data-driven decisions by building reports, dashboards, and automation to monitor operational metrics globally.

You will work with SQL, Python, and visualization tools to derive insights, support governance, and improve reporting accuracy while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. This role focuses on robustness and timely information delivery.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in data analytics, reporting, business intelligence or a related field (internships and academic project considered).
• Working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing data.
• Working knowledge of Python, Excel, or another scripting language for data analysis or automation.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Strong analytical problem solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support cross-functional stakeholders by gathering business requirements and translating them into reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, dashboards, and basic automation workflows while collaborating with team members.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, investigate root causes, quantify business impact, and provide actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making.
• Build and maintain dashboards that surface operational performance metrics and business insights.
• Assist with data validation, quality checks, and governance activities to improve reporting accuracy.
• Document datasets, metric definitions, reporting logic, and technical documentation to support scalable analytics solutions.
• Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and best practices in analytics and automation.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve reporting, automation, and operational processes through data and analytics.
