Job summary

Columbia Bank in Orange, CA is seeking a Trust Operations Specialist - Client Service to answer questions on investments and research complex issues while following KYC, GLBA, BSA, and IRS rules. This front-line role requires professional, compliant client interactions.

You will deliver superior omni-channel service across chat, email, calls, and in person, collaborating with clients, asset sponsors, attorneys and CPAs, and documenting findings for resolution.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 2+ years' experience in a customer success role involving highly detailed transactions.
• 1-2 years' experience in a fast-paced call center environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of trust accounting systems, IRAs, and Alternative Assets is preferred.
• Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) designation with the ABA preferred.
• SDIP designation from RITA preferred.
• Proficient in IRC 4975, prohibited transactions and all other ERISA guidelines.
• Proficient in IRS publication 590 and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions regarding investments and research complex issues.
• Adhere to trust regulations and security standards (KYC, GLBA, BSA, IRS rules).
• Provide superior omni-channel client service (chat, email, calls).
• Research root causes and determine correct course of action; follow up for resolution.
• Educate advisors, clients and third parties on assets, fees, timelines and procedures.
• Identify, analyze, resolve and report on client requests and issues.
• Develop expertise to provide ongoing client support and assistance.
• Mentor new associates and contribute to process improvements.
• File reports on client issues for management review.
• Analyze trends to facilitate service improvement.
