Job summary

Clayton is seeking a Truss Builder to join our team. You will build roof trusses at our facilities, reading cut sheets and blueprints to ensure all units meet NTA standards. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, accurate jig setup, and precise nail placement.

Responsibilities

• Build roof trusses for Clayton Home Building Facilities.
• Read cut sheets and blueprints to meet approved NTA standards.
• Check parts and setup for jig, cord, parts and nails per blueprint.
• Ensure proper nail placement, overhang and king post.
• Meet production requirements while maintaining quality.
• Operate a hydraulic press when required.
• Collaborate with a partner and report to Truss Team Leader.

Responsibilities Of Truss Builder

• Truss Builder’s primary responsibility is to build roof trusses for Clayton Home Building Facilities.
• Builder must be able to read a cut sheet and blueprint to build trusses that meet the approved standards regulated by the NTA.
• Check parts on assigned table/press to ensure proper set up of jig, cord, parts, and nails according to individual truss blueprint.
• Ensure proper nail placement, overhang and king post on every unit produced.
• Be able to meet production requirements in a timely manner while also ensuring the quality of each truss.
• Be able to repeatedly lift over 50 pounds.
• Be able to operate a hydraulic press.
• Be able to work well with a partner.
• Demonstrates honesty and integrity. Has a strong work ethic. Displays a great attitude and models teamwork.
• Reports directly to Truss Team Leader and Truss Department Area Coordinator.
