Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a Trunk Main Manager in the Distribution Engineering Unit to oversee the Supervisors of Mechanics in the Trunk Maintenance group. You will guide trunk main operations, supervise regulators, and coordinate citywide maintenance and repairs.

This role concentrates on ensuring reliable water service, directing staff during emergencies, and maintaining pressure above 20 psi at all times, including peak demand and during construction

Qualifications

• Eight years of full-time experience in the construction, operation, repair, or maintenance of water supply distribution, sewer and/or drainage systems, four years of which must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with four years of supervisory/managerial experience.
• Must possess a Motor Vehicle Operator's License valid in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Supervisors of Mechanics in the Trunk Maintenance unit and provide direction on trunk main operations and appurtenances.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of all in-city regulators and advise on corrective actions for low pressure or volume issues.
• Provide guidance to Trunk Maintenance Staff for water supply and emergencies to keep pressure above 20 psi at all times, including peak demand and during construction shutdowns.
