Job summary

OmniSource in Lima, OH, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform routine PM on transportation equipment, including yard vehicles, and to complete DOT safety repairs as needed. Welding and fabrication, hydraulic inspection, electrical troubleshooting, tire changes and preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers are core duties.

You must provide your own hand tools; Class A CDL is a plus. Strong communication, self-motivation, and flexibility are essential for this on-site role.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of welding and fabrication experience.
• Minimum of two years experience with general knowledge of DOT or Class A truck maintenance requirements.
• A clear understanding and adherence to safety regulations.
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more consistently.
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be highly self-motivated.
• Team player dedicated to the organization
• Flexible working hours
• Class A CDL license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welding and fabrication as needed.
• Inspect and repair hydraulic components.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Change tires, make brake adjustments, and fix lights.
• Perform preventative/corrective maintenance on trucks & trailers.
• Maintain complete and accurate maintenance documentation.
• Operate forklift, ability to drive Truck and Trailer.
• Follow good housekeeping standards.
• Make recommendations for process system improvements.
• Knowledge of industrial safety and OSHA guidelines.
• All other tasks as assigned.
