Job summary
OmniSource, a Steel Dynamics subsidiary, seeks a motivated Maintenance Mechanic to support Toledo, OH operations. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on stationary and mobile equipment, troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems, respond to breakdowns, assist with installations, and sustain safe, efficient operations.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years in industrial maintenance, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards with attention to detail.
- Communication: excellent communication and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Valid Driver's License.
Responsibilities
- Interpret schematics, hydraulics, and pneumatics and read blueprints for maintenance.
- Welding and fabricating to optimize maintenance processes.
- Operate maintenance vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Repair electrical systems (three-phase and single-phase) and troubleshoot.
- Independently troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.
- Understand PLCs to optimize equipment performance.
