Job summary

OmniSource in Lima, OH is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support welding, fabrication, and truck maintenance operations. You will read schematics, repair hydraulics, and perform electrical troubleshooting as needed.

Candidate should have 3–5 years welding experience, 2+ years DOT truck maintenance knowledge, and be able to lift 50 lbs. You will work on forklifts, maintain documentation, and participate in safety programs.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years welding and fabrication experience.
• Minimum 2 years general DOT/truck maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Welding and fabrication as needed.
• Inspect and repair hydraulic components.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Change tires, brake adjustments, and fix lights.
• Preventative/corrective maintenance on trucks and trailers.
• Maintain complete maintenance documentation.
• Operate forklift; ability to drive truck and trailer.
• Follow housekeeping standards.
• Make recommendations for process improvements.
• Adhere to OSHA guidelines and safety regulations.
• All other tasks as assigned.

• Knowledge of industrial safety and OSHA guidelines.
• All other tasks as assigned.
• 3-5 years of experience with welding and fabrication.
• Minimum of two years experience with general knowledge of DOT or Class A truck maintenance requirements.
• A clear understanding and adherence to safety regulations.
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more consistently.
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be highly self-motivated.
