Job summary

Southwest Construction is seeking a Truck Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of light to medium duty trucks and on-site equipment. You will document repairs, diagnose issues, and perform road tests.

Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and field repairs is valued, with ASE certification helpful but not required. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, technical school training or enrollment, and a few years of maintenance/repair experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Graduated or attending classes from an accredited technical school.
• Three years of experience in maintenance/repair of gas light and diesel vehicles.
• Valid driver license with good driving record.
• ASE certification or dealer certified helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a fleet of light and medium duty trucks and trailers.
• Document repairs with computer and writing skills.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair engines, fuel systems, A/C and brakes.
• Troubleshoot electrical, ignition and wiring, including computer components.
• Perform road tests and field repairs on-site during construction projects.
• Work with shop and jobsite personnel and maintain a safe, clean area.
• Must have own tools and work 40+ hours per week.

Southwest Construction is looking for a Truck Technician to join our TEAM!

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for proper maintenance and repair of our modern high-tech fleet of light duty and medium duty trucks and towable equipment.
• Possess computer and writing skills to properly document repair made.
• Working knowledge helpful for Ford 6.0l, 6.4l and 6.7l engine.
• Road test, inspect and troubleshoot to assess condition and diagnose to repair.
• Troubleshoot, adjust, disassemble and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, a/c and brake systems on fleet trucks.
• Adjust or repair liftgate systems hydraulic components and wiring systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, replace and rewire electrical system components, such as ignition, lights and electrical controls, including computer-controlled components.
• Field repairs may be necessary when equipment is on-site during construction projects.
• Work in conjunction with other shop and jobsite personnel.
• Maintain safe and clean work area.
• Must possess own tools.
• Work 40+ hours per week.

Minimum qualifications:

• Requires knowledge of materials, parts, tools and basic principles to repair trucks and trailers.
• Availability to work overtime including weekends if needed.
