Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking an Assistant General Manager for the Truck Service department to support the General Manager in leading marketing and operations, guiding technicians through troubleshooting and repair of heavy duty trucks and trailers, and ensuring travelers are returned to the road better than they came.

In this role you’ll inspire the team, recruit and coach, manage performance, oversee safety standards, and drive revenue through strong people, product, and service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Supervisory experience in truck service, travel centers or related business activity preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with managers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the Truck Service team to meet performance standards and deliver fast, friendly customer service.
• Coach and performance manage staff according to company policy.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain high-quality team members; recognize and reward achievements.
• Guide technicians through troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy duty trucks and trailers.
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure products and services are available.
• Support achievement of financial objectives through effective management of people, product, service and facility processes.
• Adhere to safety standards and company guidelines on vendor relationships.
