Job summary

TransChicago Truck Group in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Service Advisor for the 2nd shift (3:30pm–12am) to manage repairs between customers and the service department, explaining repair purposes and costs while suggesting additional work and providing status updates.

You will greet customers, document vehicle service needs, create repair orders, coordinate with foreman and parts, and upsell when appropriate, with base pay of $40,000 plus commission and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and compassion.
• Experience as Service Advisor or Writer in trucking/auto industry preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; detailed documentation.
• Mechanical inclination and attention to detail.
• Willing to complete Service Advisor training in DTNA ARC, Decisiv, and Procede.
• Valid driver's license and insurance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and verify owner information for write-up.
• Document service needs and create repair orders in the system.
• Update customers with status and communicate with foreman and parts.
• Upsell recommended repairs and obtain approvals.
• Ensure vehicle keys and parking areas are secured.
• Provide timely updates via customer’s preferred method.
• Answer phones and maintain professional, welcoming service.
• Aim for positive customer survey results.
