Job summary

Continental is seeking manufacturing associates in Illinois to operate, observe and adjust presses, move tires, and load materials using hoists and robots. This role involves heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs.), frequent reaching and bending, and may require evenings and weekends in a non-climate controlled environment with exposure to noise.

Responsibilities

• Operate walkie to continually observe presses.
• Move green tire buggies into place when necessary.
• Use hoist to load tires onto loader pans when press is not being loaded by Hirata robot.
• Spray molds when necessary to prevent tires from sticking to them.
• Operate control panel on presses when press needs reset, placed in manual, ect.
• Heavy work; Frequent lifting up to 100 lbs. and occasional lifting/ carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent reaching and twisting and occasional climbing of stairs/ladders, squatting, and bending.

ENVIRONMENT

• Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/ guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes.
• New Hires will likely be placed on a shift that includes evenings and weekends.
• The job is within a non-climate controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise.
• The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.

HOURLY PERKS

• The hourly starting rate for this position is $28.02. The hourly rate will increase to $29.54 per hour after training is complete (6-12 weeks of training). This position is also eligible for a quarterly incentive program.
• This role will be eligible for shift differential which is added onto your hourly rate. The additional shift differential is $0.20 per hour for overnight shifts, $0.15 per hour for evening shifts, and $1.00 per hour for weekend shifts.
• Pay rate is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
