Job summary

Continental is seeking a Manufacturing Operator in Mount Vernon, IL to monitor extrusion operations, press control buttons, and clear jams. You will move materials between storage and work areas, and perform heavy lifting up to 100 lbs, with occasional 50 lbs.

The job requires working in a non-climate controlled environment with temperature swings. New hires may work evenings and weekends; comprehensive training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 0-2 years of manufacturing experience.
• No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

• Monitor extruding machine operations and observe light/ gauges in order to detect malfunctions
• Press control buttons to activate machinery and equipment
• Clear jams and remove defective or substandard materials or products
• Move materials, supplies, components, and finished products between storage and work areas using work aids such as racks, hoists, and power trucks
• Heavy work; Frequent lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs. and occasional carrying up to 50lbs.
• Frequent reaching and twisting and occasional climbing of stairs/ladders, squatting, and bending.

• Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/ guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes.
• New Hires will likely be placed on a shift that includesevenings and weekends.
• The job is within a non-climate controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise.
• The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.

HOURLY PAY

• The hourly starting rate for this position is $27.39. The hourly rate will increase to $28.86per hour after training is complete (6-12 weeks of training).This position is also eligible for a quarterly incentive program.
• This role will be eligible for shift differential which is added onto your hourly rate. The additional shift differential is $0.20 per hour for evening shifts, $0.40 per hour for overnight shifts, and $1.00 per hour for weekendshifts.
• Pay rate is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
