Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Truck Operator to operate Water, Dump, Haul, and Tractor Trailer/Lowboy trucks on construction sites. You will follow safety rules, maintain a clean work area, and perform routine maintenance while supporting project needs.

Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to read safety and operation manuals are required. The role emphasizes independence, effective communication, and willingness to engage with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Related construction experience preferred.
• Current driver's license with proper classification and endorsements as required by law.
• Strong teamwork orientation.
• Positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
• Detail orientation.
• Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals, and maneuver steering wheel to operate equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts.
• Knowledge of equipment and their uses.
• Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication).
• Ability to work independently.
• Active listening and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks as required by project needs: Water Truck, Dump Truck, Haul Truck, Tractor Trailer/Lowboy.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform routine maintenance including lubrication, fueling, and cleaning.
• Observe equipment operation to detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build and maintain relationships across diverse teams.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
