Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Truck Operator/Driver (no CDL) to operate Water Trucks, Dump Trucks, Haul Trucks, and Tractor Trailer/Lowboy units on projects. The role requires following Mortenson safety policies, performing routine maintenance, and maintaining clean work areas.

Ideal candidates will have construction experience, a valid driver’s license with endorsements, strong teamwork, and a proactive, customer‑oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Current driver's license of proper classification and necessary endorsements as required by law.
• Related construction experience preferred.
• Strong teamwork orientation.
• Positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
• Detail orientation.
• Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals, and maneuver steering wheel to operate equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts.
• Knowledge of equipment and their uses.
• Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication).
• Ability to work independently.
• Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks based on project requirements: Water Truck, Dump Truck, Haul Truck, Tractor Trailer/Lowboy.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Ensure housekeeping in assigned area is clear and orderly.
• Perform routine maintenance including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Observe equipment operation to detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build and maintain relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
