Job summary

Colonial Group, Inc. is seeking a Truck Mechanic I in Roebuck, SC to join the fleet maintenance team.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel and gasoline equipment, document repairs, and support safe, cost-effective operations. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and basic computer skills; automotive mechanics degree or CBT certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A valid drivers’ license is required.
• Two years of experience as a truck mechanic and/or three years of experience in a fleet setting is desired.
• Automotive mechanics degree and/or manufacturer CBT training course certificates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs automotive and other company equipment.
• Completes recordkeeping and documentation for all repairs.
• Ensures compliance with company standard operating procedures.
• Partners with colleagues to determine best practices with the goal of minimizing equipment downtime and route interference during repair times.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Truck Mechanic, an essential member of the fleet maintenance team, provides safe, federally compliant, dependable, and cost-effective equipment using preventative and predictive maintenance.

Job Expectations/Duties

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs automotive and other company equipment.

• Knowledge of preventative, predictive, routine, non-routine, and emergency maintenance for equipment primarily powered by diesel and gasoline engines and auxiliary equipment is preferred.
