Job summary

Colonial Group, Inc. seeks a Truck Mechanic I to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our fleet in Roebuck, SC. The role emphasizes safe, federally compliant maintenance and cost-effective repairs with preventative and predictive practices.

You will document repairs, follow SOPs, and collaborate with team members to minimize downtime and route interference. A high school diploma, valid license, and diesel/gas engine knowledge are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills are required.
• Automotive mechanics degree or CBT training preferred.
• Two years of experience as a truck mechanic or three years in a fleet setting preferred.
• Knowledge of preventative, predictive, routine maintenance for diesel and gasoline engines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs automotive and other company equipment.
• Completes recordkeeping and documentation for all repairs.
• Ensures compliance with company standard operating procedures.
• Partners with colleagues to determine best practices with the goal of minimizing equipment downtime and route interference during repair times.
• Other duties as assigned.
