Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet reliable through preventative maintenance and timely repairs.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, read precision instruments, and perform welding as needed to keep trucks and trailers in top condition. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and a hands-on approach in a collaborative OD environment.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience as maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (when required).
• Knowledge of truck systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and Electrical/diagnostic systems.
• Willingness to participate in training and attend classes offered by the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on company equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical or electrical failures in trucks or related equipment.
• Read precision instruments and use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot components.
• Weld horizontally and vertically as required for repairs.
• Comply with DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Maintain safety and high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment.
