Job summary

Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) in Mount Sterling, IL is hiring CDL truck drivers for Customer Delivery Specialist and No-Touch Freight roles. You’ll operate company equipment, transport product to customers and distribution centers, and stay compliant with DOT/FMCSA rules.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate DTI equipment to transport product.

• Meet MPG, fuel purchases, idle time and speed targets.
• Read and understand load paperwork and product descriptions.
• Identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.

Pay

Starting pay up to $95K for inexperienced, first year earners, depending on job type and schedule (See pay options). Plus bonus and incentive opportunities. (Pay range includes training pay and is variable based on driver experience, job type, and schedule)

Schedule Available

• Traditional (typically dispatched 5.5 days per week)
• 6x3 (6 days on 3 days off)
• 4x4 (4 days on 4 days off)
• Home Daily (Dispatch hours/days off will vary. Averages 1 night per week over the road)

What You’ll Do

• As a best-in-class driver, safely and efficiently operate DTI equipment to transport product
• Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements set by the Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and any other governing body
• For all jobs except no-touch freight, load and unload dry and temperature-controlled goods
• Meet established company goals, including managing MPG, fuel purchases, idle time, and speed
• Read and understand DTI load paperwork and product and packaging descriptions
• Identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position

Role Specifics

• Regular physical activity required for all jobs except no-touch freight; must be able to safely lift on average 14 pounds and at the most around 60 pounds
• Includes sitting, walking, or standing during work hours

You Must Have

• Class A CDL and a good motor vehicle report or ability to obtain a Class A CDL (we help cover driving school tuition for new drivers)
• Haz-Mat and tanker endorsements (can be obtained during training)
• Medical examiner certificate from a company-approved examiner
• Ability to pass our physical ability test (PAT)
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend the English language
• Safety-first mindset

You May Also Have

• Six months of over-the-road experience or graduate of approved truck driver training school (of 140-160 hours minimum)
• High school diploma or GED
