Job summary

Kiewit in Texas is seeking a Lead role to effectively lead and manage crew daily activities and production according to project timeline, plans, specifications, codes and industry standards and provide the necessary training on proper safety and operational procedures.

Lead and supervise other crafts as requested by project supervision, ensuring safety, quality and timely completion within project budgets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field or related area.
• Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge to perform all essential functions of craft workers under supervision.
• Train and teach safety practices, policies and procedures.
• Understand scheduling, material control and unit manhour performance, estimating fundamentals and job cost systems.
• Follow and transmit written and oral instructions effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and organize people, equipment, tools and materials to promote safe, efficient, and timely construction.
• Ensure construction equipment is correctly operated and maintained.
• Maintain accurate reporting records including job quantities, productivity rates, time sheets and daily reports.
• Assist in developing a weekly schedule and sequence of activities for the crew.
• Ensure timely completion of work within estimated costs while maintaining quality workmanship.
• Ensure safety of crew and operate per company and government safety rules.
• Develop and maintain crew attitude via toolbox meetings and safety communication.
• Monitor compliance with Company policies by all supervised employees.
