Job summary

Ryder in Hammond, IN is seeking a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver for home daily routes. Start time 5:00 AM; Monday–Friday, weekends off. You will drive sleeper tractors across MI, IN, IL, IA, OH and WI, with no-touch freight and paid training.

Benefits include PTO from day one, maternity leave, 401K match, uniforms/boot allowance, and 24/7 roadside maintenance. Pay is $30.60 per hour with overtime and per diem where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age and valid CDL Class A with endorsements.
• DOT medical card and drug/alcohol verification required.
• Pass Ryder drug test, background, and road test.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate logs and records for audits.
• Load/unload freight if required and perform other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $30.60 Per Hour
• Overtime Paid After 40 Hours
• Per Diem Pay: $125 per night with 1 - 2 nights a quarter ocassionaly
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Monday – Friday OFF WEEKENDS
• Start Time: 5:00 AM

Trucks are three years or newer. Ryder Drivers Service the Route, not the Truck. All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines

• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
