Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Rancho Cordova, CA is hiring a Class A CDL Yard Truck Driver. This role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits after 30 days, and a steady yard-focused driving schedule.

You will deliver solo on yard routes, operate a yard truck, and handle 53' dry van trailers with no touch freight. Schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, about 40 hours weekly, with 6:00 AM dispatch. Candidates must be 21+, have a CDL, pass drug test and background checks, and meet experience

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads
• The position requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records Other tasks as assigned

• Hourly Pay:$28.50 per hour


• Shift Pay: $1.00 per hour
