Yard Driver – Sacramento Yard

• Route: Local Home Daily
• Tractor Type: Day Cab/Yard Truck
• Trailer: Dry Van 53’

Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance. Company drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within a public roads area.
• Ensure compliance with safety & DOT regulations, continuous training, and customer service.

Additional Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and prevent safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, move, and yard inventory.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle.
• Experience: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
