Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Amarillo, TX, offering a weekly pay guarantee and a suite of benefits. You’ll drive well-maintained trucks with a schedule of 6:00 AM start, Monday–Friday, and earn paid training along the way.

Earn $1,600 per week guaranteed plus per-mile and per-stop pay, with PTO from day 1 and a range of company benefits. This role supports regional routes and requires experience as noted in the job details.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with endorsements required.
• 9 months flatbed experience in the past 3 years.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to read and apply laws, rules and procedures.
• Pass a DOT physical and background/drug tests.
• Minimum age 21 years.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal/state laws and company rules.
• Detect and minimize safety hazards; maintain logs and records.
• Load/unload freight or assist as needed per customer request.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Solo Miles Pay:$0.60 per Mile with 1500 Miles per Week
• Solo Stops Pay:$25.00 per Stop with up to 15 Stops per Week
• Paid Training

• Route: Regional - 2 Layovers weekly
• Tractor Type: Sleeper
• Must have 9 months of Flatbed experience
• Freight: Touch Load Securement, Chaining and Unchaining - Steel (Very little Tarping)

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
