Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Ashland, VA is seeking a Class A CDL Transfer Truck Driver to shuttle equipment between Ryder customer facilities. Local home daily, Monday–Friday, with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

You will operate a tractor-trailer in compliance with DOT regulations, maintain accurate logs, and ensure safe, on-time transfers. Starting pay is $21 per hour, with weekly earnings of about $840 or more, depending on hours worked and overtime.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a Ryder drug test and background check covering last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle and comply with DOT regulations.
• Maintain logs and records accurately.
• Perform transfers between Ryder customer facilities as required.

Pay

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $21.00 Per Hour
• Home Time: Local - Home Daily
• Schedule:Monday-Friday
• Start Time: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

Route & Freight

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
