Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Ashland, VA is hiring a Class A CDL Transfer Truck Driver. This local role features weekly pay, benefits, and a stable driving career. Expect a Monday–Friday schedule with start times from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and home daily.

The position requires a CDL Class A with verifiable tractor-trailer experience, DOT physical, drug screen, and background checks. It includes no-touch freight, and a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years OR 2 years within last 5 OR 5 years within last 10
• Must pass Ryder drug test, background, and motor vehicle checks including DOT requirements
• Must have DOT physical and Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle and comply with safety and DOT regulations
• Maintain accurate records and logs as required
• Support shuttle transfers between Ryder customer facilities and assist as needed

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $21.00 Per Hour
• Home Time: Local - Home Daily
• Schedule:Monday-Friday
• Start Time: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
