Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is hiring a Fleet CDL Driver to transport materials to locations across Georgia with a home daily schedule, supporting our growing network while upholding safety and service standards. You will operate with a valid Class A CDL, flatbed experience, and strong safety compliance, including DOT rules.

This full-time role offers a base salary with bonus opportunities, no touch freight, forklift-assisted loading/unloading, and the chance to grow within a family-owned company that

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Flatbed experience required.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations.
• Ability to pass required DOT pre-employment screening.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply written instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Transport materials to locations across Georgia in a safe and timely manner.
• Provide friendly customer service at loading and delivery sites.
• Secure loads and occasionally tarp products.
• No touch freight; loading/unloading with forklift.

Description

As one of our Fleet CDL Drivers, you will be responsible for transporting materials to our locations in a safe and timely manner. There are several locations to be serviced throughout the state. This is a full-time driving position, salary based pay with opportunity for bonuses. You will provide friendly and professional customer service at the loading and delivery sites. You are responsible for securing the load and occasionally tarping the product. No touch freight! Material will be loaded and unloaded with a forklift.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record
• Flatbed experience
• Familiarity with DOT regulations
• Successfully pass required DOT pre-employment screening
• Good communication skills
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
