City of Pittsburgh is seeking a Truck Driver to operate vehicles requiring Class B CDL (L air brake restriction lifted) as part of the Public Works crew. The role transports crews, materials, and equipment, keeps accurate logs, and performs pre/post-trip inspections in compliance with laws and departmental policies.
Applicants must be current City of Pittsburgh employee with 6+ months in Public Works or have 2+ years of full-time truck experience with a Class B CDL.
Operates vehicles and associated equipment requiring Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs) as a member of the crew; transports crews, materials, and equipment; maintains accurate logs and records of work.

Union: This position is included in the Pittsburgh Joint Collective Bargaining Committee and will be filled in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Civil Service Classification: Non-Competitive.

WORK EXPERIENCE: The applicant must either A.Be a CURRENT City of Pittsburgh employee with a minimum of six (6) months of continuous employment with the Department of Public Works. OR B. Possess a minimum of two (2) years of paid full-time experience operating trucks that require a Class B CDL. (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.)
EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a high school diploma or Equivalency.
