Job summary

City of Pittsburgh seeks a Truck Driver to operate vehicles requiring Commercial Driver’s Licenses as part of a crew, transporting crews and materials. You will perform pre/post trip inspections, maintain logs, and ensure safety standards across shifts.

Qualified applicants must have a valid Class A/B CDL with air brake restriction lifted, and meet residency and civil service requirements. The role is in Public Works and adheres to union guidelines.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Class A or B CDL with 'L' air brake restriction lifted.
• Six months of City of Pittsburgh DPW employment or two years of full-time truck driving with a Class B CDL.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles and equipment requiring CDLs as part of a crew.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and reports needed repairs.
• Loads and unloads materials and equipment, abides by laws and safety rules.
• May direct traffic at work sites and works across shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Uses GPS, Cartegraph and MS Office to maintain records and prepare reports.
