Job summary

The Armstrong Company is seeking a Dispatcher to serve as the main contact for company drivers and customers. Ideal candidates will have extensive dispatching experience for trucks, including household goods, and excel at building relationships with clients and drivers.

You will coordinate routes, schedules, and labor needs, prepare dispatch documents, and monitor driver logs while ensuring compliance with DOT rules and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; degree preferred.
• 2–3 years of Truck Dispatcher experience; moving/relocation experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and DOT rules.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Planners to plan driver routes.
• Help drivers choose efficient courses to fulfill routes.
• Coordinate with drivers to find available agents when necessary.
• Set up shipments with agents and coordinate labor as needed.
• Record shipment details and arrange pick-up times with customers.
• Prepare dispatch documents, bills, and invoices.
• Maintain records of calls, routes, and delivery times.
• Ensure drivers comply with DOT, safety, and company policies.
• Review driver logs and monitor maintenance schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
