Job summary

The Armstrong Company is seeking a Company Driver to oversee and lead full-cycle transportation, including packing, loading, transporting, unloading, and unpacking of goods. The driver will operate a tractor trailer (CDL A) or straight truck (CDL B) and supervise helpers to ensure safe loading and delivery with strong customer service.

Responsibilities include coordinating with operations, maintaining records, and complying with DOT and company safety standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Must possess a valid Class A CDL.
Prior moving & storage or furniture delivery experience is a plus.
Proven safe driving history.
Must pass DOT/Company requirements (PSP, medical, drug screen, background).
Must safely operate straight trucks and/or tractor trailers per DOT rules.

Responsibilities

Operate trucks for local delivery, pick-up, and relocation of product.
Protect items with pads and tape to prevent damage during loading, transit, and unloading.
Ensure shipment paperwork (Bills of Lading, inventories, weight tickets) is properly completed.
Direct packers and helpers to load/unload safely within productivity standards.
Maintain clean, orderly equipment and perform routine vehicle maintenance.
Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pick-up operations.
Follow all safety rules as required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety program.
Inspect materials received for order accuracy and quality.
