Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking HVAC apprenticeship talents to join our growing team.

Apprentices will train on HVAC equipment on client sites and participate in Service Technical Academy certification to build skills and career advancement opportunities. Under coaching, apprentices will learn to troubleshoot both technical issues and customer needs, maintain progress updates with the team, and meet union training attendance.

Qualifications

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• 1+ years of industry experience or experience servicing mechanical systems in HVAC.
• Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
• Leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
• Self-starter with ability to eventually work independently.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy to build skill sets and opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards and advancement.
• Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues and customer needs.
• You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.
• You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
