Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking apprentices to gain HVAC knowledge on client sites and learn from industry-leading professionals. You’ll participate in certified training through the Service Technical Academy (STA) and receive a vehicle and tools to perform at a high standard.

You will provide excellent service to customers, diagnosing issues, and offering solutions to improve facility efficiency while staying safe.

Qualifications

• Must be a member or willing to join the local union.
• Tech savvy, using AI tools and handheld devices.
• Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards and advancement.
• Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs.
• You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.
• You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
