Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support the North America HVAC business. You will service air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, AHUs and large roof top units, with opportunities in petro-chemical or data center environments.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience on air/water-cooled chillers, industrial chillers, AHUs or large rooftop units.
• Repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers and ammonia/hydrocarbon components.
• Maintain ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.
• HVAC systems knowledge: chilled water loops, pumping, compressor troubleshooting.
• Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators and lasers for pumps/fans/ Compressors.
• Use vibration equipment to troubleshoot compressor drivelines.
• Proficient with large tonnage chiller 460 VAC VSDs.
• Pass a knowledge exam to assess proficiencies.
• Career development through training in HVAC products and quotes.
• Collaborate with local market mechanics; provide on-the-job training.
• Write clear problem statements, causes, and corrective actions to customers.
• Provide quotes to customers and participate in Service Plus Rewards.
• Self-starter with safety focus.
• Universal EPA refrigerants license, state/local licensing, and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and issues.
• Act as trusted advisor; deliver solutions at commissioning and aftermarket service.
• Provide recommendations to keep facilities running efficiently and upsell when appropriate.
• Prepare quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
