Job summary

Youthful? No: Young Automotive Group in Logan, Utah is seeking a skilled Truck and Van Upfit Technician to install, modify, and customize commercial trucks and vans to customer specifications.

This role involves wiring for accessories, modifying interiors/exteriors, reading work orders, and ensuring safety and quality in all installations. A strong mechanical background and teamwork are essential for meeting production timelines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with hydraulic systems, welding and metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation instructions.
• Experience in automotive/upfit environments preferred.
• Basic electrical knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install aftermarket equipment such as ladder racks, shelving, toolboxes, lighting, hitches, and liftgates.
• Perform electrical wiring for accessories and auxiliary systems.
• Modify vehicle interiors and exteriors based on upfit specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and installation instructions.
• Ensure all installations meet safety and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production timelines.

Responsibilities:

• Install aftermarket equipment such as ladder racks, shelving, toolboxes, lighting, hitches, and liftgates
• Perform electrical wiring for accessories and auxiliary systems

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions
• Previous experience in automotive, mechanical, or upfitting work preferred
• Basic electrical knowledge and wiring experience is a plus
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• CDL or ability to obtain is a plus (not required)
