Leech Lake Band Of Ojibwe is seeking a dedicated professional to implement and develop a truancy program within the Child Welfare Division. You will work to prevent and reduce truancy among Leech Lake children and youth in local schools, collaborating with a team to achieve program goals.
The role requires an Associates Degree or in-process education in related fields, with preference for experience serving American Indian families and knowledge of the ICWA/MIFPA acts.
Summary: Responsible for the implementation and development of a truancy program for the Leech Lake Child Welfare Division. The goal is to prevent and reduce truancy of Leech Lake children and youth attending area schools. This person works as part of a team to carry out the following responsibilities.
Associates Degree in Education, Social Work or other related field. May be waived if in the process of obtaining.
Two years experience in planning and offering services to American Indian children and families is preferred.
Experience in Microsoft Office applications is required.
Knowledge of the Minnesota Indian Family Preservation Act and the Indian Child Welfare Act is required.
Ability to pass pre-employment, random drug test, and annual criminal background check.
Native American preference.
