Job summary

Mid-South Transportation Management, Inc. seeks a skilled Trolley Trackman/Track Maintainer to service MATA’s trolley track infrastructure. The role requires inspecting, repairing, and maintaining track, switches, and related components with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The successful candidate will operate track maintenance tools and heavy equipment, coordinate with Power/Signal teams, and maintain records. A valid driver’s license and computer literacy are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years' experience as a skilled trackman or track maintainer on a rail system, streetcar rail preferred; or 2 years' experience as a MATA Trolley Maintenance Technician; or any equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be computer literate and able to work with Trapeze maintenance software (or equivalent software).

Responsibilities

• Inspects, cleans, and maintains track and special trackwork; checks, repairs, cleans, and adjusts track switches.
• Inspects and maintains track crossings and the interface between roadway and track.
• Removes and installs ties, rails, turnouts, and track fastenings.
• Replaces and tightens bolts; cleans and lubricates track, fastenings, and switches; cleans and maintains track drains.
• Assists in track surfacing, alignment, and gauging operations using track maintenance tools and equipment (tampers, jacks, gauges).
