Job summary

MTM Transit partners with Kern Transit to provide safe and reliable Trolley Operation services in Mojave, CA. The Driver role emphasizes courteous, professional service and compliance with client and company procedures.

Starting pay rate is $19.89/hour with increases after training completion; a $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered. This position requires a valid California Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement and other regulatory verifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 21+ years of age.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s license for past 5 years.
• California Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement.
• No felony convictions in past 5 years.
• No reckless driving or suspended license in past 7 years; max 2 in lifetime.
• No DUI or DWI convictions.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• DOT Physical and pre-employment drug screening.
• Criminal background check and motor vehicle record check.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with passenger loading and unloading.
• Assist with mobility device and securement for safety.
• Ensure on-time pick-up and drop-off.
• Be sensitive to needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections.
• Complete paperwork as required.
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required.
