Job summary

Hamline University seeks a TRIO/SSS Retention Specialist to support first generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. You will manage a 15–20 student caseload, provide proactive holistic advising, and coordinate workshops with campus partners to promote persistence and graduation.

Join a collaborative team led by the Program Director and Student Success Specialist to strengthen student success outcomes; this is a grant-funded, in-person role with occasional evening commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• 1+ year of experience in academic coaching, retention services, tutoring, or academic advising in higher ed.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Data entry, management, and reporting for the TRIO/SSS program.
• Provide holistic advising to a caseload of 15–20 students.
• Coordinate workshops and events with program partners.
• Assist with FAFSA completion and financial literacy efforts.
• Collaborate with CASA, advising staff, and campus offices to support persistence.
